THIS YEAR we mark the 80th Anniversary of the Normandy landings. On 6th June 1944, Allied forces came by land, sea and air and would eventually bring about the liberation of Europe and ultimately the end of the Second World War.

And what makes this anniversary even more poignant, is that this is most likely the last major anniversary where the few surviving veterans are able to honour their D-Day comrades and indeed all those that gave their lives in the name of freedom.
