2017 UK Lion of England CERTIFIED BU £5

2017 UK Lion of England CERTIFIED BU £5

When Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in 1953, the entrance to Westminster Abbey was guarded by ten fantastical creatures The Queen's Beasts.

To celebrate the ancestral beasts of heraldry, myth and legend that watched over Her Majesty the Queen throughout her unprecedented reign, a UK £5 coin has been released featuring the Lion of England a traditional symbol of centuries of Royal British Heraldry

The Lion of England is a traditional symbol of bravery, strength and valour and is one of the earliest animals to appear in royal emblems.

The patriotic design by Jody Clark is one of the best in years, harking back to a more traditional style and features the Lion of England which takes a fierce, rampant stance. The obverse features the fifth portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, also designed by Jody Clark.

This UK £5 coin has been protectively encapsulated and certified as superior Brilliant Uncirculated quality, which means it's free from the blemishes and scratches you find on normal circulating coins.

This coin is no longer available from The Royal Mint, but you can secure the Brilliant Uncirculated issue today for just £29.99.
