The design features a specially commissioned depiction of Sir Winston Churchill by renowned artist, David Young. Each coin comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Due to the importance of this anniversary, the Mint has struck this coin to a Piedfort specification. Double the thickness, Piedfort coins are typically issued with around half the edition of the standard coin. As a result they have a strong sell out record, ensuring their long-term collectability.

Being double thickness, this coin weighs 50 grams – almost twice as much as the standard specification, it's also been expertly plated in 24 Carat Gold to a pristine Proof finish.
Proof is the highest grade of finish found on collectable coins. They are produced using a specially prepared die which strikes the coin several times to create a high quality frosted and mirrored finish and enhanced definition.
