In 2014, The Royal Canadian Mint issued The Princess to Monarch Fine Silver Coin to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's unique career in the armed forces. And it was extremely popular with collectors.
HM Queen Elizabeth II's Military Career
During the Second World War, Princess Elizabeth served in His Majesty's armed forces. She served as a mechanic and truck driver in the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service. Not only was she the first female member of the royal family to serve, she was also the first ever royal family member to take up full-time military service and is the only head of state who ever served in the Second World War.
The Queen's own military record has given her a special compassion for the troops who have served her.
Struck in the very highest standard .9999 "four nines" pure silver to a pristine proof finish, this coin was issued to commemorate Her Majesty's remarkable military career. It comes presented in an Official Royal Canadian Mint presentation case with a Certificate of Authenticity.
