Centenary of Commemorative Stamps Box Set

2024 welcomes the 100th anniversary of the UK’s first-ever commemorative stamp, issued as a tribute to the 1924 British Empire Exhibition.

And to commemorate the centenary, The Westminster Collection has been able to source 200 of the original stamps alongside the complete set of genuine 1924 coins.

Your collection also features Royal Mail’s brand-new centenary issue, postmarked with the official anniversary date: 23rd April 2024.

The British Empire Exhibition: the First Commemorative Stamp

As the largest ever exhibition staged across the world at the time, it was intended to celebrate the British Empire, foster trade, build connections with its colonies, and uplift the nation’s morale.

To celebrate, the first ever commemorative stamps were issued on 23rd April 1924, in the form of the 1d scarlet and 1½d brown stamps.

UK 1924 Coins

Featuring George V on the obverse, this complete set of 1924 British coins features the half-crown, florin, shilling, sixpence, farthing, and half-penny.

These 100-year-old coins, struck from silver and bronze, are extremely coveted and rarely appear on the secondary market.

Officially Postmarked by Royal Mail: JUST 200 AVAILABLE

Also included in your collection is Royal Mail’s brand-new 1st class stamp, issued to celebrate the centenary of the first commemorative stamp.

What’s more, it has been postmarked with the official anniversary date - 23rd April 2024 - guaranteeing its place within the strict worldwide edition limit of 200.

The official postmark means no more can ever be made, so click ‘add to basket’ to avoid missing out…
