The Outbreak of The First World War Silver Proof Coin Cover

***Featuring brand new British First World War Stamps***

To mark the Centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, we are honoured to present a limited edition commemorative coin cover as a tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom one hundred years ago.

The cover carries all six brand new stamps from Royal Mail’s 2014 ‘The Great War’ issue, which have been released to mark this momentous event in world history. The stamps are postmarked on their first day of issue, 28th July 2014, with the address of Westminster Abbey - home of the tomb of the Unknown Warrior.

The cover also bears an official British Isles £5 Sterling Silver  WWI Coin. Finished to a high proof standard, the reverse design depicts the soldiers with the moving epitaph ‘Their bodies are buried in peace; but their name liveth for evermore.’ On the reverse is Ian-Rank Broadley’s classic effigy of Her Majesty the Queen.

To complete the cover, in the foreground is a striking image of Lord Kitchener from the famous recruitment poster that summoned men to enlist as soldiers with the famous strapline ‘Your Country Wants You.’  In the background a mass of new recruits at a British Army training school on the Western Front.

Each commemorative cover is individually numbered in silver ink and comes housed in a Deluxe Presentation Folder with an accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.

There are just 495 covers available – an extremely low number considering the almost unimaginable scale of the conflict and that it will be commemorated worldwide.
