The Most Exclusive Way to Own the Ian Rank-Broadley Portrait Coin
To mark 100 years since the birth of Queen Elizabeth II, The Royal Mint continues its Portraits of a Queen series with the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy – one of the most recognisable portraits to appear on UK coinage in the modern era.
First introduced in 1998, Rank-Broadley’s portrait presented a more realistic and sculptural depiction of Her Late Majesty, drawn from sittings personally approved by the Queen. It went on to feature across UK coins for more than a decade, becoming instantly familiar to collectors and the wider public alike.
Now, for this centenary release, the design has been faithfully remastered by Royal Mint Chief Engraver Gordon Summers, preserving the strength and character of the original portrait while refining its detail for a new generation of collectors.
Struck from fine gold to the highest Proof standard, this exceptional issue is presented in a rare 1/10oz specification and housed in official Royal Mint presentation packaging.
With a strict worldwide edition limit of just 500 coins, and not available directly from The Royal Mint, this is one of the most exclusive gold releases within the Portraits of a Queen collection.
A refined and highly collectible tribute to one of the defining effigies of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign – and an essential addition for serious gold collectors.
