SOLD OUT: The Seymour Panther 1oz Silver Proof Coin

The Seymour Panther 1oz Silver Proof Coin is the first coin in a new UK Series. It’s one of ten magnificent King’s Beasts sculptures you’ll find if you visit Hampton Court Palace. King Henry VIII had the beasts carved to celebrate his marriage to Jane Seymour, in 1536. Hence the name.

The design portrays the fierce beast on the coin with flames flowing from its mouth and ears, establishing its mighty nature. It has been struck to a proof finish and protectively encapsulated, thus ensuring its quality and lustre.

A drastic decision leaves collectors missing out

But The Royal Mint has taken the drastic decision to issue this first coin in 1oz of .999 silver with an edition limit that is making it incredibly difficult for collectors to get hold of.

Just 6,000 single coins have been authorised. And that’s 2000 less than the first coin in the Queen’s Beast’s series – which SOLD OUT completely.

The 10oz, 5oz, and the 2oz Silver Seymour Panther coins sold out at The Royal Mint within just a few hours on launch day.

And the 1oz Silver followed suit very soon.
