Issued in 2025 to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe, this official UK 50p pays tribute to the resilience, sacrifice and hope that brought the Second World War in Europe to an end.

The Design

The reverse features a powerful symbol of peace – the iconic dove design by acclaimed artist John Mills.

Originally appearing on a £2 coin for the 50th anniversary, it has now been carefully reimagined for the 80^th anniversary, complete with the moving inscription ‘In Peace Goodwill’, drawn from Winston Churchill’s The Second World War.
