Official 80th Anniversary of VE Day Silver 50p

Issued in 2025 to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe, this official UK 50p pays tribute to the resilience, sacrifice and hope that brought the Second World War in Europe to an end.

The Design

The reverse features a powerful symbol of peace – the iconic dove design by acclaimed artist John Mills.

Originally appearing on a £2 coin for the 50th anniversary, it has now been carefully reimagined for the 80th anniversary, complete with the moving inscription ‘In Peace Goodwill’, drawn from Winston Churchill’s The Second World War.

The Edition Limit

Only 5,000 coins were authorised for release, with most already tucked away into collections, making this a truly exclusive collector’s item. Each coin is presented in official Royal Mint packaging, providing historical insight into the events that shaped our nation eight decades ago.

We now have just 30 coins remaining on what is likely to be out final allocation.

Struck to the highest Proof standard in sterling silver, this edition offers a timeless and dignified way to mark one of the most significant milestones in British – and world – history.

Secure yours today and own a rare piece of remembrance at the official Royal Mint issue price.
