Exquisite half kilo silver coin celebrating the Tall Ships of Canada

Canada shares a special bond with its Tall Ships – you could say that they’re legendary.

This includes the Bluenose that became an international racing legend, and the Amazon, that became better known as the ghost ship Mary Celeste.

Now, 150 years of Canada’s maritime history is celebrated on one exquisite coin, struck from exactly half a kilo of pure silver…

Four iconic ships – one impressive 85mm canvas

This coin has been impeccably struck from half a kilo of pure 99.99% silver to a perfect proof finish with selective gold-plating.

Its impressive 85mm diameter means you can enjoy every minute detail of its intricate design – it’s a piece of art! The craftsmanship is simply breath-taking.

Shaped like a compass, the design features four of Canada’s most celebrated Tall Ships:

  • Amazon – after running aground in 1867, she was repaired and renamed the Mary Celeste, the vessel that became one of the world's most famous ghost ships after she was discovered adrift in 1872 without any trace of her crew.

  • Marco Polo – the “fastest ship in the world” that provided passenger service during the Australian gold rush.

  • Bluenose – Canada’s most famous ship, known for competitive racing and as a working fishing vessel.

  • HMS Discovery – under the command of Captain George Vancouver the ship and crew made history during a four-year expedition of discovery, diplomacy, and exploration in the Pacific.
