The Antique Silver Abacus 2oz Coin

Innovative coins with interactive centrepieces have a SELL OUT history and this coin is sure to be no different…

This striking 2oz Silver coin is an exceptional tribute to an ancient civilisation and a pivotal development in commerce.

An ancient 6,400 kilometre passage connecting China, the Middle East and Europe, the Silk Road served as a hub for world trade for thousands of years and is often associated with the abacus, the first known portable counting device. Still used in China today, the abacus remains an important tool and our connection to a significant period in history.

Operational Abacus

The highlight of this coin is of course its centerpiece - an operational abacus. All you have to do is rotate the coin to interact with the traditional counting device.

The reverse design depicts travellers riding camels making their way along the Silk Road. Items that were typically traded, such as pottery, silk, plants, paper, fragrances and spices are represented in the foreground in incredible detail.

And it’s this immense depth and detail that couldn’t have been captured without the coins antique finish, which guarantees that each coin truly is unique.

Also included in the design is the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, certifying the high quality that the Mint is renowned for.

Strict Worldwide Edition Limit

An extremely strict worldwide edition limit of 2,500 has been set and unsurprisingly, coins this special are guaranteed not to be available for long.

Especially when you consider the incredibly fast SELL OUTS of interactive coins such as the Silver Chess Coin and the Thermometer Silver coin.

Presentation Packaging

Your coin will come protectively housed in a latex display case, which allows you to show off the design without the risk of damaging this incredibly unique coin.

And of course, your coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
