The Queen Victoria portrait you’ve probably never seen before…

During Queen Victoria’s reign her portrait on UK coinage changed twice, but there was another portrait of the Queen that the UK never saw, until now.

To mark the landmark 200th Anniversary of Queen Victoria’s birth, The Perth Mint has resurrected this scarce portrait, and with it comes the opportunity for UK collectors to not only see it, but own it for the first time.

Rare Queen Victoria Portrait

The design of this special issue, by Aleysha Howarth, is remarkable. It gives UK collectors the unique chance to see and own the rare portrait of Queen Victoria which never left Australia.

Paying tribute to Queen Victoria’s extraordinary 63-year reign, it features the four effigies that have appeared on Australian coinage, including the briefly used Sydney Mint Type II Portrait.

Struck for a limited time from 1857 to 1871, this portrait is quintessentially Australian, depicting a young Victoria with a sprig of banksia (an Australian plant) woven in to her hair.

Extremely Limited

Impeccably struck from 1oz of Pure 99.99% Silver to a perfect proof finish, this issue is strictly limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide.

Very few are likely to make their way to the UK, which means the chances of seeing one, let alone securing one for your collection is extremely limited.
