Queen Victoria’s remarkable reign saw her become our longest-serving monarch to date. And, significantly, this year marks 200 years since her birth in 1819.
To commemorate this important time in our nation’s history, and to celebrate 200 years since her birth, a new gold-plated £5 Coin Set has just been released.
Specially commissioned portraits
The designs of the coins have been inspired by the Queen Victoria sovereigns which featured three key portraits of the monarch throughout her reign:
- Young Portrait 1838- 1887
- Jubilee Portrait 1887 - 1893
- Veiled Portrait 1893 - 1901
The portraits have been specially created by renowned sculptor Luigi Badia and each of the coins in the set is struck to the traditional crown-size. Each has then been expertly plated in 24 carat gold.
Just 4,995 sets available worldwide
The Queen Victoria 200th Anniversary Gold-Plated Set is limited to just 4,995 worldwide. This is an extremely low edition limit for any new issue, and considering the historical importance of Queen Victoria’s reign, it will add even further to the interest amongst knowledgeable collectors.
