To mark the 75th Anniversary of the Normandy Landings, a special strike of just 995 Solid Gold Pennies has been authorised.
Rare collecting event
The release of a Gold Penny is an extremely rare event. In fact this is the first military issue for some considerable time.
The specially designed reverse features the wording ‘D-Day’ and ‘75’ alongside 3 stylised parachutes to signify the paratroopers who so bravely started the D-Day landings on 6th June. It also features the denomination ‘One Penny’.
The design is exquisite and will not just be popular with collectors in the UK but also across the world.
This important new Penny is struck in solid gold to the standard United Kingdom Penny diameter and finished to a special collector’s Proof condition. Each one has then been encapsulated to protect its finish and presented in a deluxe wooden Presentation Case along with a Certificate of Authenticity.
