Struck from .925 silver to an immaculate proof finish this 50p coin has been designed by David Knapton and features the infamous Photograph 51 that led Franklin to her discovery that DNA has a double helix structure.
Visually Piedforts are a real talking point. They are struck on superior double-thickness blanks and finished to the very highest proof quality. Double the thickness means they are double the weight of the Silver Proof issue and contain double the amount of silver.
