On 20 November this year, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh celebrated their Platinum Wedding Anniversary, the first Royals in British history to do so.
To mark this historic occasion The Perth Mint have issued a brand new 70th Anniversary of the Royal Wedding 2017 1oz Silver Proof coin.
The coin has been struck in one ounce of 999/1000 pure silver, to a pristine proof finish. The reverse design of the coin depicts the shield from the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom alongside the Coat of Arms of His Royal Highness Prince Philip. The design also features flowers from the floral emblems of Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and England, as well as the St Edward’s Crown.
The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Royal anniversaries are always the most popular amongst collectors, so demand is expected to be extremely high. With an edition limit of just 5,000 worldwide, many collectors are sure to be left disappointed.
