Own the set of quarters that collectors hoarded

This set contains 36 Canadian Quarters which have been plated with one of the rarest metals in the world - Platinum. This metal is known for its non-corrosive properties, making it one of the best ways to protect your coins.

The first twelve quarters in your collection were issued to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Confederation in 1992, one for each Canadian province and territory at the time.

They were so popular that within a year, almost all of them had disappeared from circulation, hoarded by collectors across the world. These were the inspiration for the US 50 State Quarters program, of which almost half of all Americans collected.

The next twenty-four quarters were issued in 1999-2000 to celebrate the Millennium. The Royal Canadian Mint decided to hold a contest for all Canadians to submit designs that could appear on these coins, one for each month of 1999 and 2000. The competition drew an enormous response of about 33,000 entries. The 1999 designs were meant to look back on Canada’s past, whilst the 2000 designs looked to the future.

Each set comes ready to display in a presentation box with Certificate of Authenticity.
