They were some of the most colourful and appealing stamp designs ever committed to paper, so popular they lasted into the reign of King Edward VII. The public rushed to buy these stamps in commemoration of 50 years of Queen Victoria’s reign, and ever since they have been known as the ‘Jubilee Issues’ of 1887.

Consequently, many of these stamps now reside in private collections and complete sets are very difficult to come by.
