Queen Victoria was recently surpassed by her great-great granddaughter as the nation’s longest reigning monarch.

However in 1887 she was on her way to becoming the longest reigning female monarch the world had ever seen – head of the most powerful empire on earth. It was also the year in which the United Kingdom released some of the finest definitive stamps ever produced, and today you have an exceptional opportunity to own a complete set of all fourteen values.

The public’s joy at this momentous anniversary created a massive demand for commemorative products. And the most popular of all was the 1887 ‘Jubilee’ Stamp Issue that you can secure today. Despite the fact the United Kingdom would not formally release its first commemorative stamp for another 37 years, the public flocked to these colourful stamps, and they became the unofficial commemorative symbol of the Jubilee.

 A Royal Anniversary

These were Britain’s first ever two-coloured stamps, and their design heralded a new era for UK postage. They were some of the most colourful and appealing stamp designs ever committed to paper, so popular they lasted into the reign of King Edward VII. The public rushed to buy these stamps in commemoration of 50 years of Queen Victoria’s reign, and ever since they have been known as the ‘Jubilee Issues’ of 1887.

Now, with Queen Elizabeth recently becoming the world’s longest reigning monarch, you have the chance to own them all and not only remember a key period in the British Empire, but also a major milestone in British Postal History.

 Over 130 years old

Consequently, many of these stamps now reside in private collections and complete sets are very difficult to come by. The 1 Shilling Green and Red are particularly challenging for collectors as despite being considered part of the series they were not released until 1900, and as such exist in much smaller quantities.

However – we have managed to secure a small number of these complete sets. But you will have to hurry, as our supplies are extremely limited and, to be fair, they will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

Your stamps come complete in a Presentation Folder, perfect to keep them safe for the next 100 years, and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, so that your future generations can appreciate the brilliance of Victorian craftsmanship.

Click ‘Add to Basket’ now to secure them all and not only remember a key period in the British Empire, but also a major milestone in British Postal History.
