STRUCK ON THE DAY: 80th Anniversary of VE Day Gold Proof 50p

* JUST 80 AUTHORISED *

The official UK coins for the moment the Second World War came to an end and peace was restored across Europe have been released.

Commemorating one of the most influential moments in British history, the UK VE Day Struck on the Day Gold Proof 50p is likely to be one of the most prized possessions in any collection.

Struck carefully at The Royal Mint on the 8th May 2025, marking 80 years since Europe announced Victory, the coin features a unique Privy mark of an ‘80’ and a 'V' to signify the one-day-only strike and incredible occasion.

But just 80 coins have been issued worldwide featuring a redesign of the iconic Dove of Peace which was designed by the late John Mills for the 50th anniversary exactly 30 years ago.

The Westminster Collection has an extremely limited number of these special coins, but if you wish to learn more or would like to secure one, click ‘enquire now’ to hear from one of our expert consultants.
