For this new issue, the historic effigy has been reimagined by Royal Mint Chief Engraver Gordon Summers, pairing Maklouf’s classic portrait with a striking contemporary radial background.

Struck from one full troy ounce of pure platinum, the coin is crafted from a precious metal that is around 30 times rarer than gold and far less commonly used in UK coinage, making platinum issues some of the rarest and most sought-after modern collectibles.
