2019 Australian 75th Anniversary of D-Day $1

On D-Day, over 2,000 Australian airmen took part in the battle of the skies above the invasion beaches, in addition to 500 Australian sailors serving in the escort fleets.

Commonly known as the ‘D-Day Landings’ this historic event took place in Normandy on 6th June 1944 and began the liberation of German-occupied France during the Second World War, laying the foundations of the Allied Victory.

To mark the 75th Anniversary of the Normandy Landings, this 2019 dated Australian $1 was released.

Designed by Bronwyn King, the intricate design on this Australian $1 shows a flight of planes all heading in a single direction, with an Australian Kangaroo featured at the bottom.

However, due to the difficulty of sourcing these coins, we have only a limited number of them available for Change Checkers.

To ensure you don’t miss out on this special anniversary coin, please secure your 2019 75th Anniversary of D-Day Australian $1 here by clicking 'Add to Basket' now.
