Exclusive £15 SAVING - Own the FIRST EVER UK £5

In 1990, the Royal Mint re-tariffed crowns from their previous 25 pence value to the £5 coin that is now so sought-after by collectors.

Since then, the £5 has become the UKs Flagship coin, issued by the mint only to commemorate the most-important royal and historical anniversaries of the year.

The UKs FIRST EVER £5 Coin

Issued only to commemorate the most significant Royal anniversaries, the UKs FIRST EVER £5 coin was fittingly issued to celebrate the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.

Designed by Royal Mint engraver, Leslie Durbin, the reverse features ornamental letter 'Es entwined and flanked by an English rose and Scottish thistle with the dates 1900-1990 below.

The reverse design features Raphael Maklouf's third effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
