In 1971, English author, Roger Hargreaves first introduced the nation to the wonderful world of Mr Men™ and Little Miss™.

This year, to mark fifty years of fun, a brand new series of UK £5 coins has been issued in celebration of these incredible characters, with the very first coin featuring Mr Happy himself!

Designed by Adam Hargreaves - the main author and illustrator of the Mr. Men & Little Miss books and the son of Roger Hargreaves - this brand new £5 coin features the instantly recognisable and much-loved Mr Happy at the heart of the design, marking his first ever appearance on a UK coin.

The 2021 United Kingdom Mr Men & Little Miss coin series commemorates the anniversary of these wonderful story books with the release of three brand new £5 coins.
