Originally due to be released in 2020 to celebrate Portugal’s participation in the Olympic Games, collectors have had to wait a whole year to get their hands on this 2 Euro coin.
That’s because its release was delayed in line with the Tokyo Olympic Games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the long wait is now over and collectors of Olympic-themed coins will be delighted at the chance to add this release to their collection.
The reverse design depicts the official logo of the Olympic Committee of Portugal, alongside the inscription "Portugal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics", with an outer ring made up from the 12 stars of the European Union.
