UK 2019 Samuel Pepys £2 DateStamp Issue

An official new United Kingdom £2 has been issued to celebrate 350 years since Samuel Pepys’ last diary entry.

Samuel Pepys is recognised as the most famous diarist who ever lived, with his works providing valuable first-hand accounts of life in 17th century London and the English Restoration period.

His private diary, which he kept from 1660-1669, gives important eyewitness accounts of landmark events in British history, including the coronation of Charles II, the Great Fire of London and the Great Plague.

This new £2 coin has been struck by The Royal Mint to a pristine Brilliant Uncirculated finish. The reverse features a design by Gary Breeze, inspired by the shorthand Pepys would use to write his famous diary.

Just 500 available worldwide

Thousands of the new Brilliant Uncirculated Samuel Pepys £2 Coins will be struck by the Royal Mint, however only 500 will be available to own in this exclusive DateStamp Issue.

This provides you with an extremely limited way to own this new £2 coin. Your coin will be officially postmarked by Royal Mail with the date 31.05.2019 - the exact day 350 years ago Pepys put his quill down for the last time.

What’s more, each coin comes protectively sealed in a tamper-proof numismatic capsule with its own unique serial number so you can even register it online to receive your official DateStamp™ registration certificate.

Remember, because of the special one-day-only postmark, just 500 of these issues will ever be made available. DateStamp™ issues are always popular, so a sell-out is likely.

Don’t miss out, pre-order yours today.
