UK 2015 Royal Navy £2 Coin - 3rd Rarest £2 in Circulation
To continue the 4 year commemoration of the Centenary of the First World War, The Royal Mint issued the second in a 5 coin series of brand new £2 coins. This time commemorating the Royal Navy who played an integral role in the First World War.
Despite the War often being remembered for the miles of no man's land and the horrors of the trenches, the Navy played an essential part not only at sea but on land and in the air as well.
3rd Rarest £2 Coin in Circulation - 4th Rarest UK Coin to Date
The Royal mint confirmed in 2016 that only 650,000 of the 2015 Navy £2 coins were struck for circulation, making it the 3rd rarest £2 coin. With such a low mintage it is also the 4th rarest UK coin to date, making it particularly sought after.
The design features a First World War Battleship - part of the Grand Fleet - by military artist David Rowlands to mark the advancement in naval technology during this time.
