Two British icons side by side…Silver 'Britannia' £5 Banknote

There are many British symbols evocative of our tremendous history and tradition. But there are two that are most famous for gracing our currency.

Britannia and St. George.

And now you have the chance to own these two iconic Britons together on a fine Silver commemorative paying tribute to the historic Series B £5 banknote.

Series B £5 Banknote

Only one banknote was issued as part of the Series B issue – the £5, designed by Stephen Gooden.

This was issued in February 1957 and is known as the Series B or Helmeted Britannia. Designs were produced for the 10/- and £1 notes but Gooden died before he could produce a design for the new £10 note.

However, Gooden’s design now stands out as one of the most beautiful ever featured on our paper currency, especially because it features two of Britain’s most famous figures.

Fine Silver Commemorative

And so, to commemorate this famous banknote a limited number of perfect reproductions have been intricately struck from 5g of Fine Silver.

Protectively laminated and presented in a Display Album, this is the perfect piece of nostalgia and heritage to pass down to your children and grandchildren.
