In the 2012 games, between the Canoe slalom and sprint events, Team GB won a total of 4 medals, 2 of which were gold.
The canoeing 50p was designed by Timothy Lees, a stone carver who is a member of the Royal British Sculptors. The coin features a person in a canoe on the slalom course.
