In 2018, to mark the 250th anniversary of the first great voyage of Captain James Cook, The Royal Mint announced a three coin series. And now the THIRD and FINAL coin in the series has been released.
Designed by Gary Breeze, this coin features the bow of Cook’s famous ship HM Bark Endeavour with a Maori canoe in close proximity. When Cook chartered the island of New Zealand on route to Australia, the Maori people gave their decorative paddles as gifts.
In fact, each reverse has been designed that when the coins are eventually placed together, like a puzzle, a complete larger design will be revealed. This is the FINAL PIECE of the puzzle.
Your Captain Cook £2 coin is certified as superior Brilliant Uncirculated quality, and comes protectively encapsulated in its bespoke official Royal Mint presentation pack.
