Since exploding on to the British music scene in the 1970’s, Queen have sealed themselves as one of the most influential and beloved bands in the world. Their pioneering creative and alternative approaches to music making proved to the world that music has no bounds.
And now a UK £5 coin has been released to commemorate their lasting legacy. This is the very first time the British band has been featured on a coin, and is the start of the exciting Music Legends coin series.
This coin has been struck to a Brilliant Uncirculated finish, and features the first ever coin design by Chris Facey. The design is sure to delight Queen fans as it features the iconic instruments of the classic line-up – Brian May’s Red Special guitar, John Deacon’s Fender Precision Bass™, Roger Taylor’s Ludwig™ bass drum and Freddie Mercury’s Bechstein™ grand piano.
Plus, eagle eyed collectors will also notice the piano has the opening notes of what’s considered by many as one of the greatest rock songs ever written, Bohemian Rhapsody, pressed down!
Your coin will arrive in its official Royal Mint presentation pack, so you can keep it safe and in pristine condition for generations to come.
