2021 UK Team GB CERTIFIED BU 50p Coin

In 2020, collectors were delighted by the announcement of the Team GB 50p Coin, released as part of the Annual Coin Set to celebrate the Team GB athletes in the upcoming Olympic Games.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic and the postponement of the Olympic Games to 2021, this 50p was never individually released in 2020, forcing collectors to wait for its release in 2021.

Dual-dated Team GB 50p

Unlike the version of this coin released as part of the 2020 Annual Coin Set, the individual release features a 2021 dated obverse, whilst still keeping the original 2020 reverse design by David Knapton and depicting a diverse mix of sports.

Excitingly for collectors, this makes the 2021 UK Team GB 50p Coin one of only a small handful of UK 50ps to feature a dual-date! Undoubtedly this will add to the collectability of the coin, which has already proved to be one of the biggest numismatic news stories of the 2020.

And just like the popularity of the 2012 Olympic 50ps (some of the rarest and most collected 50ps in circulation), this release is has also been in high demand!
