** NOW SOLD OUT **
Magna Carta, meaning ‘The Great Charter’, is one of the most famous documents in the world.
It was originally sealed by King John of England in 1215 – over 800 years ago. It was written by English Barons with the purpose of putting an end to the King’s abuse of power over his people and essentially placing the monarchy under the law.
The Magna Carta provided the framework for constitution and many of its principles have been echoed in many other important documents around the world, including the United States Bill of Rights (1791) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948).
Just 132 remaining!
To celebrate such an important anniversary, Guernsey issued this stunning £5. I had presumed we had completely SOLD OUT of these coins when they were issued in 2015 but incredibly I have been able to find a small quantity of JUST 132 for collectors.
Struck to a Brilliant Uncirculated quality, the reverse of this special coin features the King’s Crown and Baron’s sword alongside the first two words of the Latin Magna Carta text.
What’s more, this coin can be yours for just £12.50. When you consider the importance of both the anniversary and the Magna Carter itself, PLUS the fact there are only 132 left for customers, this isn’t expected to be around for long.
