Own the first five Christmas issues for just £5

On 1st December 1966 Royal Mail issued Great Britain’s first Christmas stamps, since then Christmas stamps have gone on to become one of the most popular issues of the year.

This collection features all five pre-decimal issues: 1966 – 1970 and are some of the most popular Christmas stamps.

1966: The first British Christmas issue features two stamps designed by Tasveer Shemza and James Berry who won a Post Office competition that was launched on Blue Peter.

1967: The 1967 issue features three stamps, each one featuring religious imagery in the baroque style.

1968: The 1968 issue reverted back to a secular design featuring children playing with their Christmas toys and the message ‘Happy Christmas’.

1969: The 1969 issue features three stamps designed by Fritz Wegner; the Herald Angel, the Three Shepherds and the Three Kings.

1970: The 1970 Christmas also features religious imagery, designed by Sally Stiff, the designs feature the Shepherds and Angel, Mary, Joseph and Jesus in the manger and the Three Wise Men.

All 14 stamps can be yours today for just £5 (+p&p) and they'll arrive presented in a display page.
