JUST £9.99 - Own Royal Mail’s FIRST EVER rugby stamp that’s over 50 years old

You have the chance to own Royal Mail’s FIRST EVER rugby stamp issued in 1971, making them firmly established as a vintage collector’s favourite.

Yours for JUST £9.99

It was in 2019 that this special England Rugby Tournament Cover was issued to celebrate the England Rugby team doing the nation proud out in Japan. Under Eddie Jones, the team certainly put the ghosts of 2015 firmly behind them. It felt like the beginning of something great for English Rugby and was a moment worth commemorating.

Featuring Royal Mail’s FIRST EVER rugby stamp that’s over 50 years old

Your cover features Royal Mail’s FIRST EVER rugby stamp.  Issued 51 years ago, they are only the second sport-related stamps EVER issued (behind England’s 1966 World Cup winning triumph) and as such are firmly established as a collector’s favourite.

You will also receive Royal Mail’s official rugby stamps from 1980 and 1991 – the subsequent two issues celebrating the sport.

It would be an understatement to say it was not easy getting enough of each of these sets to bring together on the cover, which was also officially postmarked by Royal Mail on the day of the Rugby World Cup final!

Unfortunately the boys fell short at the final hurdle BUT it means that today you have the opportunity to own a vintage collection of Royal Mail’s Rugby stamps issued for the FIRST TIME more than 50 years ago!

Bearing that in mind, I think it’s safe to say you won’t find another rugby collectible quite like this one – quite simply, it wouldn’t be possible.
