Own the Lion of England and the Unicorn of Scotland £5 Pair for
just £19.99
In 2017, the first two
coins in the Queen's Beasts Series were released, paying tribute to
the UK's proud heraldic tradition.
The Lion of England is a
traditional symbol of bravery, strength and valour
and is one of the earliest animals to appear in royal
emblems.
The Unicorn of Scotland is
an enduring symbol of strength and beauty. It
first appeared on Scottish heraldry in the twelfth century, after
William I created an early form of the Scottish Coat of
Arms.
Patriotic & Traditional
designs
The lion takes a
fierce, rampant stance on the Lion of England £5
coin while a dynamic depiction of the Unicorn leaping over the
shield of Scotland features on the Unicorn of Scotland £5 coin. The
patriotic designs are some of the best seen in years and
hark back to a more traditional style.
Both coins have been
designed by Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark
including the obverse which features the fifth
portrait of Her Majesty the Queen.
These brand new UK £5
coins have been protectively encapsulated and are certified
as superior Brilliant Uncirculated quality, which means
they are free from the blemishes and scratches found on normal
