The Perth Mint has had an association with the world's most famous gold coin for more than100 years, with it first striking sovereigns during the last few years of Queen Victoria's reign. 2009 sees them renew their association with the sovereign with the first annual release of the limited edition 2009 Perth Mint Gold Proof Sovereign.
The extremely low edition limit of just 2,500 worldwide of this first annually released Sovereign from the Perth Mint is sure to be in high demand with collectors. It is struck in 22 carat gold to a stunning Proof finish.
It is distinguished from the United Kingdom sovereign by the reverse desing featuring the Commonwealth Coat of Arms and also featuring the historic 'P' mintmark which appeared on sovereigns produced at the Perth Mint during the reigns of Queen Victoria, King Edward VII and King George V. Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II proudly adorns the obverse of the coin.
It is housed in a magnificent wooden presentation case and accompanied by an individually numbered certificate of authenticity.
