Peter Malam ("Pete") Brothers served in the RAF from 1936 and during WWII shot down 16 enemy aircraft. He took delivery of PB MD188, one of the last Mk VII high altitude Spitfires to be built, in 1944, when he was Wing Leader at Culmhead in Devon.
