The Queen Victoria Embossed Stamp Collection features stamps from the first, exciting and experimental days of postal history. Milestone issues that any collector will prize and treasure and now these acclaimed issues can be yours.
The Embossed Story
Following the release of the Penny Black and Twopenny Blue in 1840, Britain soon needed stamps with higher denominations. In 1847, the first of these was produced - The One Shilling Green Stamp. The Six Penny Lilac and the Ten Penny Brown soon followed.
What makes these stamps so different is the printing process used. Printed using embossed methods, the raised ink-free surface ensured that any postal cancellation would clearly obliterate the stamp. However, these stamps were extremely costly to produce - each one was impressed into the paper by hand. Moreover, the raised surface made it difficult to adhere these to envelopes.
Limited Stocks Available
Consequently, production ceased after just a few years and nowadays, their ownership is highly prized and much sought after. However, by working closely with our suppliers, we have opportunities to own these stamps, either as a complete collection or individually if you prefer.
A fine used example of the Victorian Embossed Stamp Collection is now catalogued at £2550 and we can offer you the oppurtunity today to own an example for £1115 below that catalogue value, for just £1435.
