Issued late in 1878 in response to the need for pre-paid postage for bulky overseas packages, this first £1 Stamp is not an easy one to find.

With a value equivalent to an average weeks wages and predominantly used for internal accountancy as well as postage overseas, the number of used examples available to collectors today is extremely limited.

Available for just 6 years before the design and shape were completely changed, the 1878 version of this stamp is now much sought after.  This is one of the ultimate ‘must-have’ stamps for any collection.

Presented in a display folder with full information and certificate of authenticity, you can now be one of the lucky collectors who actually own the 1878 £1 Brown Stamp.

A fine used example of the 1878 £1 Brown is now catalogued at £3800 and we can offer you the oppurtunity today to own an example for £805 below that catalogue value, for just £2995.
