Since 1918 The Royal Air Force has taken a significant role in British military history, and now it is being honoured on a brand new first day coin cover, especially featuring the clothing worn by servicemen and women.
The RAF Uniforms First Day Coin Cover features the Royal Mail Royal Air Force Uniforms stamp issue, complete with six stamps that each portray a member of the RAF in uniform. These stamps include three se-tenant 1st class stamps that include members from 1951-2007 and three 81p se-tenant stamps that include the 1940s woman's dress and the electrically heated Air Gunners uniform. The cover will be postmarked on the First Day of Issue, the 18th September 2008. The cover also features the Guernsey 2007 Battle of Britain £5 cuni crown coin.
