The set comprises 8 stamps from the reign of Queen Victoria, giving a compelling insight into the early history of the British Postal Service. All of the stamps are now over 100 years old.

The 8 stamps include the Penny Red Star, ½d Red, 1d Brown, 1d Lilac, 2½d Lilac and three Jubilee issues - the 2½d Purple on Blue, ½d Vermilion and the ½d Green.
