To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s tragic death, this brand new supersize proof coin has been issued.
Memories of Diana - ‘the people’s princess’, who was a loved, respected and iconic woman remain as strong as ever.
Issued to celebrate her life, each coin is expertly plated in 24-Carat Gold and has been struck to a pristine Proof finish the highest grade of finish found on collectable coins.
The coin features an elegant full-colour portrait of Princess Diana attending a pre-auction party at Christies, New York, and is surrounded by the years of her life and intricately engraved roses to symbolise Diana as ‘England’s Rose’. Whilst the obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Each coin comes presented in a deluxe black leatherette presentation case along with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Super-size coins have a strong sell-out history. For example, similar issues for the Diamond Jubilee in 2012, the Coronation Anniversary in 2013, and the birth of Prince George in 2013 all sold out in a matter of weeks.
This large 65mm sized coin weighs around four-times as much as a regular crown-sized coin. It is an intensive and expensive process to undertake, so very few coins are minted at such a large size – making this coin incredibly collectable.
This coin has a strict worldwide edition limit of just 2,017. Considering their strong sell out history many collectors will miss out. Don't be one of them.
