The annual Poppy Coin is the only Remembrance issue that helps and support the work of The Royal British Legion providing lifelong support for the Armed Forces community, with a donation being made on your behalf for each coin you buy.
Over the last five years, not only have the coins helped the Legion but they have also become well established favourites among collectors seeking to own a meaningful tribute to the fallen with each new Remembrance issue.
Inspired by the Festival of Remembrance
This year’s coin draws its inspiration from the annual Festival of Remembrance when thousands of poppies float down from the ceiling of the Royal Albert Hall. At the forefront of the design are 11 falling poppies representing the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – Armistice Day. Carefully engraved behind them are the words which must never pass us by: “LEST WE FORGET”.
British Isles’ £5 Silver Specification
Each coin has been struck to the standard British Isles’ £5 Silver specification in Sterling Silver and is finished to a fine proof finish enhanced by the intricately coloured red poppies.
Just 2,016 coins have been authorised and they are presented in a wooden presentation case with their accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.
