Secure this Commemorative Coin Cover and be safe in the knowledge that you own one of the premier tributes to the biggest change to our currency in over a thousand years - Decimalisation.
The centrepiece of the cover is a brand new Sterling Silver £5 Crown that has been minted especially for the occasion. Its unique design shows the names of some of the most familiar pre-decimal denominations, including the traditional Pounds, Shilling and Pence, all highlighted in gold ink.
The cover also features 12 decimal stamps - representing all the low-value definitive stamps that were first issued in 1971. They were the first decimal stamps to feature Arnold Machin's famous portrait of the Queen - which is thought to be the most reproduced image ever and is an entire collecting subject of its own.
The cover is completed by a Union Jack 1st Class stamp with a customised label, postmarked on the 40th Anniversary date itself - 15 February 2011.
