Gibraltar Candytuft Flowers 50p Coin

This 50p features the denomination on the reverse surrounded by a crown of the Gibraltar Candytuft flowers – Iberis Gibraltarica. The obverse features the Raphael David Maklouf engraving of Queen Elizabeth II.

Gibraltar coinage is not legal tender in the UK, but the lower mintage figures of Gibraltar coins makes them particularly scarce and sought after.

With a mintage of just 30,000 in 1988, the Gibraltar Candytuft Flowers 50p is 7 times rarer than the 2009 Kew Gardens 50p - the UK's rarest 50p coin

The mintage figures are lower because of the significantly low population, Gibraltar has a population of only 34,500.

This 50p has the pre-1997 specifications so is bigger than the usual 50ps you now see in your change, making this coin a part of Gibraltar’s and the UK’s history and a perfect addition to any collection.

Please note this coin has been priced according to its scarcity and current market value.
