George III Bank Of England Tokens Set

* JUST 7 COLLECTIONS AVAILABLE *

How much do you know about Bank of England Tokens?

Dating back to 1797, after a failed French invasion, British gold and silver coins disappeared from circulation, hoarded out of fear. And due to their restricted ability to strike coins, The Royal Mint had to ask the Bank of England for emergency currency.

This meant that up until the great recoinage of 1816, The Bank of England issued replacement ‘Tokens’.

But as one of the scarcest collections I have ever been able to offer, here's why you need to secure one:

  • Features three original Bank of England 'Tokens' - issued as emergency currency to tackle the instability after the Napoleonic Wars.
  • Struck from silver, the Bank of England Token Set comprises three different denominations of Token and is well over 200 years old.
  • Uniquely stamped with the bank's emblem and value - aiming to maintain the flow of transactions in the economy.
  • Tokens were only issued under the reign of George III, making them incredibly limited – you should really make the most of this opportunity whilst you still can.

Due to the restricted stock, I’ll have to offer these on a first-come, first-served basis, so please don’t delay.
